I have been asked today to join Lollipop ladies Design Team for November and Decemmber. This is as a guest designer(my first time) and I'm very excited and a little worried as I don't specialise in cards.Oh well,I guess I can try my darndest.
Keep looking on here for my creations.

Aniseed rings

Here's my card for Lollipop ladies this fortnight where the chosen criteria were Aninseed rings and black and white. This patterned paper has some cream on it but the paisleys and title circles are white. The circles also reminded me of the rings.

Another Freaking scrapping challenge

This is a new challenge site I haven't submitted to before. When I saw the sketch,it appealed to me.
I've started by using some paper featuring words describing autumn which decided the colourscheme for the layout.Muslin was machine stitched on forst then the chicken wire mask was applied using "sugar maple".I then hand stitched around the edge of the muslin with gold broder cotton. The chipboard title from A2Z scraplets was also misted in the same colour.I've then added an wooden button from Crafty Queen and a crochet flower from Belinda. The pattern paper edging was made by overlaying a black and fawn scalloped edge to Imaginarium autumn leaves paper.

Show us your stuff

I've interpreted the sketch slightly off skew as it suited my photos. As the background pp was black and white,I went with that theme.I've used a scrapmatts park bench inked in sage as my embellishment.
The ribbon is Kaisercraft Magnolia Grove and the pearls were from Purple Pumpkin.

layering gift tags or journalling boxes

I seem to have developed a new trend for layering labels or gift tags. This card was made today and now completes my Christmas Card making.
And yesterday I did this Christmas layout with a similar theme. It was for a shape challenge on MYstical that required 5 stars,5 rectangles and 5 circles(or more).I've used Scrapmatts chipboard circles misted in red.

Photography Counterfit kit challenge

I've made this layout about Venice for a challenge on another blog, http://julenebydesign.blogspot.com.au/2012/09/purple-pumkin-buttons-are-cool.html
but thought my gondola candy dish matched it quite well. Both have orange as a colour with a touch of gold as well.

Black with two

I try to complete the black with 2 challenge in the months when time allows.
This month's challenge was orange and lime and here's my layout.
The layout started with applying lime paint and dimensional magic through a leaf template across the black cardstock.
After this dried I applied the border punched mat then the strips of patterned paper plus ribbons. Finally I've added buttons and my journalling box as well as the title.
My father flew to USA in 1959 and took this amazing photo of a sunset from the plane.

Dressing up at Scrap the Girls

Recently I had some old slides from my father printed as photos. In amongst them were some of a dress up party. The girl on the left was a "show pony".Wherever the action was she had to be in it! She features in both these photos dressed in different clothes.(I love the crooked lipstick!)

Our criteria this month was to use more than one photo, staples, flowers and 2 different alphas. All the required elements are there.I've used Kaisercraft paper flowers for a 3D look plus fabric stitched to the cardstock as my backing mat. I had fun with this one remembering old times.

Another card just for show

Here's another card I made using kaisercraft "Magnolia Grove" flowers and ADORE word plus a Scrapmatts name plate which I inked in black. I've found a market for my cards in local schools staffrooms which has given me the impetus to make more.

Patchwork quilt at Counterfeit Kits.

I bought these gold/black squares ages ago and haven't used them until now.The challenge at Counterfeit Kits was to do quilting on a page.

So I've laid out 8 plus a scrap strip then machined them together.Whilst doing this it came to me that we saw many ornate windows in Paris. The left hand one is from the Museum of Decorative Arts and the right one is the dome of L'Opera.
I misted over an ornate frame from Scrapmatts with bronze then added silver rhinestones. The strip of journalling above it was inked with gold. The black lettering is dark but white was too much of a contrast and gold disappeared into the background.
I've uploaded 2 versions of the picture as the scanner stitch wasn't exact so I also photographed the layout.Take your pick!

Case this sketch

This is a new site for card making.
I am keen to complete my Christmas card making so here is my effort.
I musn't have leaned as hard on the last stamp but still intend to use the card.

Lollipop ladies chuppa chup card

I'm not a fan of chuppa chups since I was once given a licorice flavoured one.It was awful!!!
Anyway that thought inspired this Christmas Card.I started with black card then used music as my background .To that I layered a black journalling block with a dribbly edge. Then on top I've places a crochet doiley and a red button. The scrapmatts message bar was inked in silver, then I found my rub
on would not stick to it, so I've just adhered the rub on instead. The other criteria was curves, which are certainly there.
Think of it as a GOTH Christmas Card.

Stuck at Abbey Road

Here's my layout for Stuck sketches Oct 1st .We visited Abbey Road while in London in 2009.Being a gigantic Beatles fan I loved reading all the tributes and graffiti on the walls, only wishing I could go inside.
For my layout I started by misting through my chicken wire mask then layering papers, including music, which I thought was appropriate. My ribbon from Cosmo Cricket featured cassettes, also appropriate for this.I inked a Scrapmatts frame with distress ink,and used it as another layer.

Annabelle stamps blog hop

I've just completed a blog hop at Annabelle Stamps.I've been lucky enough to win a couple of challenges at the Lollipop ladies over the years and both times received annabelle stamp prizes.
The blog hop finishes at 12pm today so if you are reading this you had better be quick.

I managed to leave comments on all but the last person. Her comments system is curious.

CSI # 40

Here's my layout for CSI #40.I've used an A2Z scraplets banner I've had for years plus some ribbon, pearls, tags, flower and a birthday card from when she was 5 .Banners are a great way of using scraps of patterned paper! The colours were pink, white, lime, yellow.

Artastic flower garden

Here is my layout for Artastic this month.
It sarted as a piece of patterned paper for cricket layouts.I stuck the orange spotted paper over the border saying cricket, then machine stitched stems for my hand made flowers. The fabric twisted organza one and the felt flowers I made myself.(I'm selling felt flowers see 3 posts before this one if you're interested)
A friend knitted the 2 flowers for me to co-ordinate with the colours I've chosen. I can no longer knit owing to my Rheumatoid arthritis.
There is a photo of bluebells on here which I chose not to mat as it looked more natural on the grassy background. There is no title (Purposely) but the journalling tag points out where the photo was taken.
Here are some close ups...

Rain at Purple Pumpkin

I bought a Heidi Grace kit at Lincraft and it was ideal for this sketch challenge.
I've used Purple Pumpkin monkey and navy chenille buttons but all the remainder is Heidi Grace.
Even though it was raining the children see the bright side of life. They went outside and using a picnic umbrella looked at the rainbow shining in the sky.Oh the miracles of nature and the innocence of childhood!

Scrap the boys

At Scrap the boys the challenge is involving our child's favourite books.Christopher adores funny books so I bought him these 2 books for his bithday.Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton are tried and true children's authors. When I called in he was on his way to swimming so this was his birthday photo. He tells me the pages about the swimming pool are the funniest,so it was appropriate.
I've used a page maps sketch and a Heidi Grace kit including rub-ons.

Gone tropical at Orange Paperie

After studying the colours in Orange Paperie's October challenge I've come up with this layout. On our holiday through Europe we visited Dingle in Ireland where Fungi the dolphin lives in the bay.The circular paper from Kaisercraft featured all the required colourscheme so I used it as my base.I've inked a Scrapmatts park bench with yellow and used walnut ink with a cotton bud on the handles. The other embellishments are a combination of punched flowers and commercial.

Kraft it up at the beach

One of my favourite pastimes when near a beach,is to walk around at low tide looking at the tiny animals etc in the sand and rock pools.I took this photo on one such walk.

I've misted over a strip of sticker borders to create "waves" or ripple edges like in the photo. Then I've used a sketch found on "Mystical Scrapbooking" for my layout.I've used watery coloured pp. plus added a curled zipper as my embellishment.I saw an article in Scrapbook Creations recently about zippers and wanted to try this out.I'm happy with the result.

Happy World Cardmaking Day

And to celebrate here's one I've made to upload to Scrapmatts.
Despite how it looks the brown card is even all the way around.I made the texture behind the reindeer by mixing gesso and paint then dragging a plastic fork through it and allowing it to dry.

Gummy smiles at October 1,2,3

My layout for Octobers 1,2,3 challenge required paper strips, the word "Miss" and school bus yellow.
I started by sewing a circle on to the base pp.Then I placed paper strips vertically down the circle.Over this I placed the photo of Annabelle after she lost her front teeth.

I've used 2 flowers I made myself, the chiffon one was twisted then adhered to a circle, the felt/lace one is self explanitory.I've also used 2 purple pumpkin animal buttons, twine and crochet doiley. The journalling block was downloaded from a website.
Here's a close up.

White with One in Greece

My layout for White with one this month features Erica in Rhodes sampling the local wine,Retsina.

I started by misting yellow paint through a grid making fine rectangles.I then repeated the process, this time with gesso to create texture.I've punched tag shaped pattern paper with stars on it then placed these along in a line, outlining in black. Then I've adhered chipboard stars painted yellow and a large star magic mounted with a black line in centre.Hope you like it!

Here's the close up...
