August Counterfeit Kit Reveal & Blog hop.

My second month as a master forger for Counterfeit Kits and I can say I'm loving it!!!
Without further ado, here is the kit we need to forge
http://www.scrapbookingfromtheinsideout.com/buy/kits/the-confidence-kit/

If you follow that link there are actually 26 photos!!!!

My kit starts with the papers, cardstock and of course my alphas.
Then I added

Flat things. See those 2 pages of numbers? There is a tutorial coming up later this month, using them.
Round Things- I've included some red patty pans that came around chocolate fudge. There are round items in the original kit. The fudge must have "evaporated" (he,he.)

Other things There are journaling blocks, flowers, ribbons and frames etc.

Looking forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with.

Here's the order for the blog hop

Casology baby girl card

Here's my humble offering for Casology this week. The owner, Melissa has had a baby girl and we are asked to make a card.
I found patterned paper from Sandy Lion with a carousel horse on it .I carefully positioned it on the card (It was too large for a border, but the underneath card is pink.)
I've added a brad for its eye and the word baby.

Punky Scraps mood board

Punky Scraps have supplied a mood board and a sketch for their latest challenge.
This is the sketch, which I have loosely followed.

and here's my layout.
We were travelling around Ireland.
My daughter was so sick of me taking photos of her by this stage, she hid her face and said "NO MORE PHOTOS"
I've used the main colours of lime, mustard yellow and grey. I added some woodtone scraps to highlight the browns in the photo. The photo idea came from all the chairs in the moodboard.
The mood board featured sideways lollipop shaped thingys, so I doodled them in on both sides, plus the arrowheads and the starburst lines around the title cachet.
I couldn't resist the lime green handbag since we carried our bags everywhere on our trip. MMR resin dots embellish it and the black punched lace on the left. The lime green & yellow striped ribbon matched so well that I couldn't resist it either.Brads are Kaisercraft.

Paper Tole at Ruby's rainbow.

This card is paper tole. The roses and butterflies are cut out manually and mounted using magic mount in 3 layers. The hat is a separate layer again. I have added green rhinestones to the hat for extra bling.
The worst part of the cutting out on this was around the edges, very fiddly scallopey points that took ages but the finished product looks good .
I'm entering this in Ruby's rainbow where the challenge is layering.

A bright CSI layout

I recently bought these happy Amy Tangerine papers and pleated flowers.
They suited the colours at CSI #82.
I painted the MEMORY MAZE tree with green, then used white liquid pearls just on the birds wings.
I've doodled the birds singing, flower stalks, around my photo and scallops around the umbrella paper.
One of the clouds behind the photo was fussy cut then adhered above the tree for more depth.
The pleated flowers also by Amy Tangerine add depth as well.
Christopher is so bright and full of life & intelligence, hence the title. He was kicking a football here so the photo wasn't posed.

annabelle stamps sketch challenge.

Quite a few months ago I won a set of Annabelle stamps on Lollipop Ladies, long before I was on their design team.
Today I pulled out those stamps and used a new one, the tree.
It is lovely quality and came out so well! I've also used Thinking of you from the same set.
I've made this card using the above sketch

Fetch a sketch #55 card, plus extras.

Here is the sketch #55 at Fetch a sketch .

I decided I need more male cards and thought of one of my nephews with braces who is self conscious about smiling. I found these coloured cogs and made this card.

and while I was making cards I've also created these two.

White with one and Tentpegging

Over the Easter Break I went to the Royal Easter Show, which is an annual event here in Sydney.
I went to the centre ring to see the Tentpegging. I had heard of it but never seen it. Sounds boring right??? Well, I was surprised, it was quite exciting! And I learnt something new too.

For my layout, I have used 2 photos. The washi tape provides the horizontal line accented by the arrows.
The tickets on the right draw the eye down the page. I've used a file card plus an Elle's studio journaling block (now written on).The chipboard quote and arrows are from MEMORY MAZE.
And my scanner slopes it down to the right yet again.I assure you it is perfectly straight.

Counterfeit Kit blog hop and my scraplift.

Counterfeit Kit are having a blog hop right now.
Go here for details of the blog hop
I missed out on being included or decided not to, I've forgotten which...HOWEVER

I've been inspired by Lynette's layout which was a scraplift of Dawn's mini book
Here's Lynette's layout link http://sassyscrapper2010.blogspot.com/ and here is her picture

and here is my scraplift of it .
I've used some remaining pieces of my July kit, plus 7 gypsies Antiquaries postale collection paper and behind the tags Kaisercraft Madame Boutique collection.
The string glued on mesh with drips of mist is based on a Louise Nelson technique that I saw on you tube. I've used this before on a layout for Mystical Scrapbooking.
By the time we had seen 7 weeks of statues around Europe,it was fun to find the LEGO man outside a toy shop in Rhodes.
That's why his tag is upside down,he is the odd one out.

Feeling Sketchy Inspirational piece.

Hi Everyone, it is Julene here to inspire you.
Just to refresh your memory, the current sketch looks like this

I've decided to make a layout for my inspirational piece.
I've also used a turquoise pearl flourish. Its name is pearl grace teal if you want to buy it from FLOURISH WITH A BLING

So without further ado, here's my layout

My title in the bottom right hand corner says Gardening is cheaper than therapy and you get tomatoes.

I've chosen a photo of my beloved father's orchids.
He was a champion at growing them, and took delight in the repotting and display of them.
I've matted it on Pink Paislee Luxe circles and used rose border fabric flowers as my main embellishments along with the FWAB flourish. I've dotted a couple of tiny roses at the ends of the swirls.
Hope you like it.

Scrapping Outback July challenge

The Pieta (1498–1499) is a masterpiece of Rennaisance by Michelangelo Buonarroti, housed in St Peter's Basillica in Vatican city.

Though I am not a Roman Catholic, nor intensely religious, I have to say there is something about this statue that stirs the emotions. It made me cry. It has beauty like no other statue I saw around Europe.
Michelangelo certainly knew his stuff.

To scrapbook it, I needed something special.
First, I matted it on beige vellum. Under that I have placed parchment then finally, a marble toned paper from Hot Off The Press. That was all mounted on cocoa coloured cardstock.
I've used 2 vintage look washi tapes, even the cameras worry me, but it was popular with photographers so I can justify that. I've used a Kaisercraft Christmas tag as my journaling card.

Evzones at Scrapfriends colour challenge

Here is the colour palette for Scrapfriends.
Again I've gone against the normal and created a male layout using PINK!!! ( No I don't mean the pop star.)
My background was created by using "pretty pink" acrylic paint, then dribbling turquoise mist over the top in splashes. The mesh allows this to show through.

The photo was taken from the hop-on hop-off bus. We were in Syntagma square watching the changing of the guard, then hopped on the bus and followed the guards as they marched around the corner. The reflection of the hand rail is on the photo as we took it through the glass.

I resisted from using flowers and tried to make my other embellishments more masculine.
I've used fibre that I found, instead of ribbon and a combination of alphas as I ran out of Z! That is the first time that has happened.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBSnfPGY19g If you want to know more about the Evzones watch this You tube video.
They do look like the ministry of Funny Walks from Monty Python.

Here's my layout.

Ozzie Ingenuity

Last year I went to Bathurst and Orange for a long weekend and met up with the Orange Paperie ladies.
Part of that journey was to Hill End goldfields. When A challenge on mystical asked for yellow and brads I made this layout. The cute pocket for my journaling was made a while ago, but went so well on here.
It is a tribute to the way Australian pioneers didn't have the necessary items they needed, so invented ways of doing things. The metal man in photos 2 and 3 reflect that spirit.
This also uses more of my counterfeit kit.

A mystical page maps using Counterfeit Kit.

Here is the page maps sketch that is featured on Mystical this month.
I've rotated it so that the circle/title part is on the bottom of the layout.
Jonathan is so tall that I can't take a horizontal photo.LOL
I've used more things from my Counterfeit Kit
The clouds paper ,orange paper and all stickers are from Simple stories I (heart) summer.
The chipboard painted blue is I think A2Z scraplets (I've had it a long time)
I distress inked with "Old paper" the circular scallop behind the word as it was too whitish.
The journaling tag is from Elle's studio.

And while I was on Scrapfriends...

http://blog.scrapfriends.com.au/2013/07/step-by-step-ssimple-tag-card-using.html

Lizzy Hill was making tags using mists, masks, inking, punches etc.

I had cut a shape from my Venice masks layout under the photos. Do you do that? It is a great source of extra small pieces of card etc.
I also had a small envelope  to use.
Following Lizzy's video and using the pause button, I've made these 2 items.
On the tag,the misting was already done, but I used blue mist to produce smaller circles and dribbled emerald green mist down the LHS.On the pocket, the dribbled green is on the right.
I outlined both using the thick end of a brown dottariffic pen.
Instead of flowers, I had punched apples, so used those and on the envelope I've used a vintage flower picture and vellum bubbles.
These also feature gold braid and washi tapes that are in my Counterfeit Kit this month.
My stamp was a Kaiser "Remember moments" word stamp.

Scrapfriends Sketch challenge

and here is mine
Another challenge site was asking where is your favourite place in the world or where would you go if you could go anywhere. I decided to do Venice and after looking at my photos decided to do this challenge instead. I love the place!!!!!

I started by misting over a Tim Holtz Idea-ology Kraft page. I've used Candy apple (red) and Sugar Maple ( bronze). This ensures the embossing comes to the fore.

The following step is hard to see..... I inked in black through a Prima dot mask on bottom right and top left just above the photos.

Next I matted my 3 photos using Kaisercraft's "Madame Boutique" range. It also is the 2 journaling blocks and the top and bottom strips.

The pennant was from another project as an offcut. Near it is a simple stories "I (heart) summer sticker that reminded me of the poles they tie the gondolas up to.

The 3 Memory Maze chipboard masks are inked first, then drizzled with liquid pearls.
Over the top of 2, I've used bronze liquid pearl dots to look like studs.I also used that on the pennant to look like brads.
On the 3rd I've used Kaisercraft rhinestones.

The top mask has a feather with gold glitter tip tied with antique lace to the stick of the mask.

Let's get shabby #20

Our inspiration at Let's get shabby this time was to
"choose a piece of shabbychic bone china/porcelain dinnerware,
for example : a teacup, dinner plate, teapot etc
It could be your own, or a photo off the internet and be inspired to recreate the pattern/image of that piece into your own artwork with a LO, card, otp etc. "

Here is my inspiration piece found on Pinterest

It so reminds me of my mother and times gone by.
I love the gold filigree work on the pink.

I found this patterned paper by Kaisercraft "Sweet Nothings" range.
It was a very close match. I've chosen to make a card.
I put the white paper through the cuttlebug using a script embosser, then lightly inked it in gold.
I used layers to replicate the stack of saucers in the photo.
The background card is quite a nice pink, but comes up looking washed out on my scanner.

Doctor giveaway.

No I'm not giving away a doctor.......
http://onescrappydoctor.blogspot.com.au/2013/07/giveaway-time.html

Natalie Elphinstone is giving away two prize packs. Follow the link to see the details BUT hurry.
It closes on the 21st July.

Stuck?! using more Counterfeit Kit.

The second sketch for July at Stuck?! looks like this.

I've used some more of my Counterfeit Kit items on this layout.

The Ruby Rockit Nostalgia Motif paper made a good background as it features lots of summery colours.
Then I used Doodlebug Designs Take note (orange) on to which I've masked gesso and lightly misted in red.
The fun in the sun (black) paper is from the Simple Stories "I [heart] summer" range as are the red sunglasses.
The enamel dots are My Minds Eye.

That is enough name dropping for one post!
I've used a play on words for the title "focus". It is related to the camera, filmstrip and glasses, but also to my plan to have fun now that I am retired .

Feeling sketchy #65

Hi there. It is another new sketch at Feeling sketchy this week.
Here is my take on it and next week there will be a layout based on this sketch as well.
(Can't reveal it yet-TOP SECRET!)
It is straight in real life!

CSI #80

Here's a layout I made for CSI #80.
The stripes across are the scanner. Hope you can see through the bad scanning. :(

Try it on Tuesday challenge

I've been staring at these 2 dominoes on my desk for ages wondering what to do with them.

Finally Try it on Tuesday announced a show us your metal challenge.
I started with this wonderful Memory maze handmade paper in black and silver. Then I added 2 strips of silver glittery washi tape.
The white domino is from October Afternoon and the 2 real dominoes found a home.
I thought this would be a good card for a man.
This was hard to photograph as flash reacted with the silver so there are 2 choices to look at.

Counterfeit Kits sketch challenge.

I'm doing this for a challenge on Counterfeit Kits.
I chose to make a card using more of my Chapter One papers etc.

(The bottom thread on the right is now adhered under.)
The scalloped black frame under the flower is a sticker otherwise it is all Chapter one except the twine.

Second pirate layout for Lollipop Ladies

http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.how-to-draw-funny-cartoons.com/image-files/cartoon-pirates-3.gif&imgrefurl=http://www.how-to-draw-funny-cartoons.com/cartoon-pirates.html&h=397&w=450&sz=25&tbnid=aNsQSmzGmZmMzM:&tbnh=85&tbnw=96&zoom=1&usg=__oE3_2sNKnBwsFqxlXnfClU2GNnI=&docid=hHuUBt9uzcID0M&sa=X&ei=8gvWUbjRKZKbiQfpgYHwBQ&ved=0CDYQ9QEwAw&dur=278
I just discovered this cute group of pirate pictures which can be copied for cards or layouts.
I've used the pirate with peg leg, sword and hook hand on my 2nd layout. I drew it freehand.(30 years of Primary Teaching do provide some skills)

Then I took my background paper, from Sandy Lion and is called Pirate ships.
I tried misting with blue but it didn't show up.
Next I used gesso to add waves on it using the scalloped edge of a plastic doiley.

This provided my background.

I then tore strips on my blue mat for the photo to also resemble the surf. I matted my photo and used a flowing piece of chipboard as another dimension. Alphas on, pirate card added plus a sign saying no boundaries and it is done.
Don't forget that Lollipop Ladies are looking for a new DT.
To enter you need to do a pirate card or layout based on these and the TWIST is water.

D-Lish inspiration board layout.

A few posts ago I put 2 cards up for the D-Lish scraps inspiration board.
The layout sketch was also on there. Today I've completed that.
I kept to the pastels on this. My dotty background paper was inspired by the gumball machine.
I've added more dots using paint through a Prima mask.
The heart in the bottom corner is vellum, also painted and mounted on a patty pan, then I added D-Lish pearls as decoration.
There is an extra photo to the sketch but these 2 were about the same moment so I used them both.
