Use your stuff and Tuesday Taggers

At Use your stuff this week the challenge is to use a doiley.

I've made a card by inking through a small plastic doiley as my background.
I've then added 2 butterflies, plus my sentiment to make a very girly friends card.

A few days ago I found a card challenge that asked for all orange.
Now I've made the card, I can't find the challenge.
Oh well, here it is anyway.

STOP PRESS
I've found Tuesday Taggers are asking for the colours of autumn so it will be entered in that instead.

The background was made using coloured texture paste (with paint mixed in).
I then dragged a comb through and let it set.
Both cards used items from my current Counterfeit kit.

Scrapping Outback

White with a twist is the challenge at Scrapping Outback this month.
You must use all the colours in this photo

Plus at least one piece of chipboard.
                                                     *******************
I started by dipping into my purple toned scrap bag and constructed my background purely from scraps.
My photo is of Mt Robson in British Columbia in Canada.
The lupins were gorgeous!

I left the white strips across top and bottom of photo because it provided contrast.
My 3 chipboard buckles were left raw and threaded on to a strip of paper.
Brads hold the ends. My flowers were from my stash as well.
The leaves were mounted on foam tape for extra height as was the punchy with Canada.
The Arcadia letters match the layout's colours.

and here's a close up

Ruby's Rainbow

The challenge at Ruby's Rainbow is to use freebies/prizes

I collected this assortment.
The cardstock had faded so the LSS gave it to me for free.
The bone check is packaging that came with flowers.
The Eiffel tower bottlecap was part of a prize.

I made this 21st Birthday card
The ribbon was the only thing on it that I paid money for.

Seize the birthday

Over at Seize the birthday the challenge is to use washi tape.

I used a manilla tag and wrapped washi tape around it in strips.
I then chose a Farmhouse Shape sicker from October Afternoon.
Onto it I've stamped Happy and Birthday separately to fit in the spaces.
It is mounted on white cardstock.

And a pleasant surprise from Feeling Sketchy for me

SOS sketch and colour pallette

Here's what we are asked to work with at http://scrapourstash.blogspot.com.au/

And here is my layout

I mounted the crimson patterned paper on a white background.
I've used mauve, yellow, royal blue, plus a bright blue lolly bag as my mats.
I can add extra information in the bag such as plane ticket, map etc.
The strip of grey and white was an extra idea of mine.(I hope aluminium meant grey not silver)
My title is a Heidi Swapp clear tab with "BEST EVER" on it.
My 3rd photo of the float plane was too big so I used instead a self made tag with an old atlas page featuring Western Canada and Victoria has a finger pointing too it.(see below)

Just about all of this was from my Counterfeit Kit.

Stuck on U sketches

Another site I frequently visit is Stuck on U sketches.
This is their latest sketch.
As we don't do Halloweeen in Australia, I've chosen another animal from our Canada holiday.
This time it is a deer that we spotted as we drove into the Fairmont Resort at Jasper.

The background paper is a reverse side of a paper from my Counterfeit Kit and the alphas, tag, yellow rose and bow are too.

Use your stuff

The challenge at Use your stuff is to feature animals in a layout or card.
These lorikeets visit my tree every spring, so I've decided to feature them for this challenge.
They are not pets but are regular visitors for a few months.

I've looped twine over brads then threaded ribbon through the twine to create a feature.

27 tags

It sounds like that movie 27 dresses doesn't it?
These tags have been made using my counterfeit kit for a retreat I'm attending next week.
They all started with cardstock misted with turquoise.
I added torn paper then a skeleton leaf .
My embellishments after that are all different but some are similar.
Here are some close ups. Sorry about the lighting.

All are in pink and blue colour tones.

Lets Capture our memories

This is the sketch for Let's capture our memories.

I rotated mine as it is a portrait photo.

The words on this paper seemed to sum up our Alaskan cruise....adventure, wander, awesome, sparkle . I chose it for that reason.
Using my Counterfeit Kit and some extras bought on the actual ship, I've prepared my layout as per the sketch. I love the adhesive silver lace I recently bought and it adds a touch of frost to my layout.

I'm also entering this on Scrapbooking Nerd challenge#7 Travel layout.

Scrap around the world.

This mood board at Scrap around the world got me thinking...............butterflies and bling!

and the 3rd challenge at Counterfeit Kits is
Challenge #3:  Use an idea previously saved!

Here is an old canvas I own.

and I found this idea on pinterest

Webster's pages Trendsetter Shadowbox!
I'm a good one for saving ideas and never putting them into practice.

After painting it white, I misted it with turquoise
Next, I adhered bling and I added lace, including a strip of white lacy braid.
I fussy cut around some butterflies and glued them along the edge of the lace.
I found a photo of my daughter and added it.
The finishing touch is a bow from American Crafts.

This morning I managed to create a card using the Mojo Monday sketch.

Deconstructed sketch.

sketch171

I have used this sketch to create 2 gift cards. They measure 7cm square.

I have used scraps from my Counterfeit Kit for these.

Simon says stamp and the letter O.

Over at Simon Says stamp we are asked to use the letter O.
As most of my craft items are packed, I've made a tag.I can't even find a ribbon to put on it.
I started by inking randomly over the cream tag with distress ink colour old paper.
Next I inked again using orange.
This created a mottled or ombre effect
I have inked around the edges using black distress ink.
Next I tried to find a stamp to do with the letter O.
The closest I came was Oink for pigs. My father used to call them oinkers.

So there you have 3 O things on one tag.

Feeling sketchy and Seize the birthday

Seize the Birthday is anything goes this time and Feeling Sketchy has this sketch.

Here is the sketch for 103

I've managed to combine the 2 using some more of that gorgeous Graphic 45 paper. Both sides of it are on here. I also added a misted scrapmatts branch and a button plus my sentiment.

Jingle Belles pink challenge

Over at Jingle belles the challenge is pink.

Yes, once again, in honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are celebrating ♥PINK CHRISTMAS♥! What does that mean? Well, we'd like to see holiday cards with a noticeable bit of pink on them, and for every card you guys link up, Stephanie and Lauren are each donating $2 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation!

There's no limit to how many times you play, so please link early and link often!!! We'd also love for you to pass the news along to all your card-making friends, so we've made a special challenge graphic and a paste-able blurb to make this really easy to blog about! :)

I like helping out especially for Breast Cancer awareness.
Here's my card, I may make more. I added a silver bow to make it look extra special.

If you are looking for Counterfeit Kits confetti post it is 2 down from here.

Gundy Spectacular layout and The male room.

This sketch is one we are asked to scrap for an upcoming retreat I'm attending.

I've used the October Afternoon Farm Girl collection plus a sprinkle of Heidi Swapp on this.
All items are from my Counterfeit Kit

 ********************************************************************************
The challenge at The male room is this sketch

I've made a card featuring washi tape and a tag that I was sent by a crafty friend.
I've placed it at a jaunty angle and added 2 matching brads at the top.

Confetti challenge #2 at Counterfeit Kits

Challenge two is to use confetti on your layout

From me.............
After looking at all that I decided to see what I had here, before running out to buy confetti.
I could have used a hole punch and made confetti.
Last month I won these little cards from Jennifer Grace plus a mask of raindrops.
At the bottom of the picture you will notice some small punched out pieces.

Next, I made a card and using the mask misted raindrops as my background.

Then, I glued some of the punched out pieces on to my card.
Finally, I adhered my stamped sentiment, and my finished card looks like this.

It isn't exactly sprinkled on, but it is confetti.
Another additional card I have just made features random pink coloured dots which I scattered then glued. I guess this follows a similar technique so here it is.

Mojo Monday #366 and CASology

It's the first Monday of the month and that means it is contest time over on the Mojo Monday blog and Julee has created this wonderful sketch to work with.

I've chosen to go with pinks from my Counterfeit Kit including my sentiment from the Kaisercraft range. It will be given to a friend who has helped me greatly over the past year.

I'm also entering this in the Pink elephant challenge.

***************
Next is my card for CASology where the challenge is splatter

As my craft items are mainly packed away, I chose to use my sugar maple glimmer mist and flicked it to create splatters. Next I found a card in my counterfeit kit that says "Forget me not".
I personalised it more by adding the word friend.
