Last hurrah for February kit.

Over at Mystical scrapbooks they had a cybercrop.
I managed to do one layout using the very last pieces of my Counterfeit Kit add on.

The challenge was to use one photo ,7 strips of paper and an 8 word title.
I've used up the chipboard corners, button and pennants plus offcuts of papers.
My white mat is a package from gold letters I used earlier this month.

Tuesday Taggers

The current challenge at Tuesday Taggers (http://tuesdaytaggers.blogspot.com.au/) is Transport.
I made a mixed media tag.
The chevron arrow is gesso. I dropped mist on to the tag.
I stamped clock faces, adhered a balloon picture and a scrap of border strip for balance.
This will be used on a future layout.

Use your stuff

The challenge at Use your stuff this week is a layout with more than one photo.
This is on white cardstock background.

Cardz4Guyz #108

This weeks challenge at Cardz4Guyz involves birds.
I've used a stork flying in front of 2 clouds.
The sentiment is a really nice one I think.
" A traveller without observation is like a bird without wings.

I've also made this blue card using the last of my Counterfeit Kit papers for February.

Use your stuff & li'l red wagon

The theme at Use your stuff is black and white.
I've made a wedding card.
I started with sheet music.
The title of the song was "give thanks" so I made that part of the sentiment.
The strip underneath was from a sheet of patterned paper.
The list was from another offcut of patterned paper.
I inked around the edges to add some dimension, then after assembling all of the above it needed something.........I found the cut out circle of a piano.....the finishing touch!

Owing to computer glitches at my end, I missed the entry time for this one.

Next comes another entry for Li'l red wagon where they want neutrals with a pop of colour.
I've used the same houndstooth background plus a doiley and a stamped Eiffel Tower image.
I added a handbag and shoe in pink. It is a 16th birthday card.

Sketch 'n'scrap

This is the sketch for cards #68 that we are currently working on at Sketch 'n'scrap.
I've used all items from my supplementary kit on this card.
The sentiment says splendid. It is in gold on a woodgrain base, so is hard to see.

Shopping our stash

The challenge at Shopping our stash is to use plastic.
I've put 3 bright pink plastic dots on this Easter Card. (Yes there is another basket!)

I'm pleased to have used the letters on this as they were from a left over set of Do-it-yourself alphas.

Pile it on challenges

I'm making Easter cards now.
Pile it on asks for handmade embellishments.
These flowers are HAND CUT as I don't own a punch. I've combined 3 together for each flower.
The orange one has been embossed and inked, the tissue paper one is scrunched and the other has a vellum top. I bought the basket punches.

I am entering this on the following challenges

http://addictedtocas.blogspot.co.uk/ Bloom
http://craftyhazelnutspatternedpaper.blogspot.co.uk/ A.G
http://thestampingboutiquechallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/ dies and punches

Scrapbookit

This grid is the basis of the challenge at Scrapbookit
We are asked to use 5 from the 9 ideas on the grid.
I've decided to do a layout about a friend's dog.

(1)There are 5 patterned papers, (2)two are distressed and ripped.
(3)My recycled product is the corrugated card cut from a coffee cup wrapper.
(4)The bursts of colour are the pops of green in the crown, the folded over piece and the brad.
(5)I've used black gesso through a lace doiley to create texture. Some of it smudged but I think it looks like dog fur (left side under the tag)
(6) I have used 4 embellishments : the crown, the tag saying boy, the ticket with trust and the diamond pattern border.

My alphas are running low so I did a combo of upper & lower case.

Case this sketch

This sketch at Case this sketch appealed to me.
I've used stripes of floral cotton washi tape across my card, then finished with a cork sentiment saying "Brilliant".
A former customer of mine has received a promotion so I'm sending this to congratulate her.

Stamping Royalty #317

The challenge at Stamping Royalty is a colour theme.
I'm making Easter cards now to sell for charity fundraising.
Looking through my papers I could find no "Bermuda Bay" but have a paler aqua which I hope is close enough.
The ribbon across the bottom is the same colour as the basket, the scanner makes it look paler.
Apart from the die cut basket my card is fairly plain
My customers prefer them that way.

Li'l red wagon

The challenge at Li'l red wagon is neutrals with a pop of colour
I recently received a Sweet stamp of a stuffed bunny.
I stamped it onto grey card then mounted it onto a houndstooth background.
The ribbon on the bunny has been lightly coloured with a goldish/yellow gel pen and I used chipboard brackets as my final touch.

Stuck sketches

The 2nd sketch for this month at Stuck?! is this

I've used mainly a kit from Bella that I recently purchased.
The lined card to the left of the photo is from a Basic Grey packet and the corrugated cardboard is cut from a coffee cup grip (Muffin Break).I recycle what I can.
Here is my layout

The photo is myself, my daughter and a friend at another friend's 2nd wedding dinner.
The reds and yellows match what we are wearing.

CARDZ4GUYZ #107

At Cardz4guyz the theme is the ZOO.
I have a pack of chipboard animals that were DCMV brand.
I've used 2 lions on my card with 2 chipboard ovals featuring animal words behind them.
I've matched my border strip to the orange lions.
No sentiment on this one.

My scanner is titling again.

The Memory Nest

I've used this sketch at The Memory Nest to document a tree that dominates the township of Minnamurra. My cousins' house is right near there(about 3 houses away).
Walking to the shop you see it, to the beach you pass it and when driving you go around it to leave and enter town. It is a landmark.

My background paper is Bella.
The bird fits the tree idea.
The other spotted paper and large pocket are from Simple stories "Take a hike".
I've left my journaling blank. my cousin is better equipped to tell about the tree.
There is also a Cedar lane arrow on here, plus some leafy washi tape.

Freshly made sketches & a supplementary kit.

Over at Freshly Made sketches, I found another way to use up smaller items from my Counterfeit kit.
I've used a border of flowers cut into two for my cross strips then another oval sticker as my centre.
They match the sky blue beautifully I think.

I appear to have used most of my Counterfeit Kit, so here is a supplementary kit to tide me over until the end of February.

Daring cardmakers

The heatwave has hit here in OZ.
I'm making cards to keep cool, in front of the fan of course!
My first card is for http://daringcardmakers.blogspot.fr/ and the theme is PARTY ANIMAL.
I had these sticker tags of foxes playing instruments, so incorporated it on to a card.

Next I used the princess and the pea technique borrowed from Suzanne
http://snapsandsnippets.blogspot.com.au/2016/02/counterfeit-kit-challenge-2inspired-by.html

and finally a thank you card just for fun.

Crazy4challenges

http://crazy4challenges.blogspot.com.au/ has a challenge to use a kite.
I've hand sewn the string on this tall thin card. The grey behind it is the table.

Challenge #2 Based on a children's story

Over at Counterfeit Kit challenges we are asked to create a layout based on a children's story or fairy story.
It is Challenge #2.

I've chosen Alice in Wonderland and as I had this paper and the hat sticker I decided to base it around the Mad Hatters tea party.
The title is As mad as hatters.
The story behind the photo is a Halloween party in 2003 at our local scrapbooking store.
We were asked to go dressed up.
Erica wore a black dress and used make up resembling blood dripping from her mouth.(Zombie)
I dressed as a fat fairy complete with wings and a wand as well as a dacron padded belly.
When we walked in, the others just cracked up laughing.
It was a funny night. We were all in that stupid mood that is contagious.

Unstampabelles challenge and Silhouette challenges.

At Unstampabelles challenge the theme is looking forward looking back.
I've concentrated on the looking forward part of this and made a card for a young male who might be deciding life's path......

I've used swiss dots embossing folder, then an altered slide mount as my "window".
I've put a silhouette face at the window and used a gold arrow plus Find your wings and fly as my sentiment.

I'm also entering this at Silhouette challenges where anything goes.

Use your stuff and case this sketch #159.

At case this sketch here is the sketch

and at Use your stuff we are asked to use an embossing folder.

I've chosen the ever popular swiss dots on this card and teamed it with some items from Pink Paislee's Cedar lane range.

Let's craft and create

At Let's craft and create their challenge is lace and pearls.
I've made a baby boy card using some vintage lace and white pearls.
That vintage baby pram picture goes so well.

The dark jade background goes all the way around the edge, the scanner cut it off.

Next is a card I've made for a couple (Anniversary),using a Fancy Pants sticker and some vellum leaves.

Time out challenges #49

http://timeoutchallenges.blogspot.fi/ inspired me to make a very special card.
The inspirational quote is 'Love is the flower you've got to let grow'

One of my close friends is having chemotherapy for secondary cancer.
After speaking to her on the phone, I made this card.(to cheer her up).
I've used some elements from my counterfeit kit plus some die cuts and punched flowers in my stash. Blue and apricots are her favourite colours.
The sentiment says Friends are family we choose for ourselves.
Though not the exact same sentiment it is close enough.

I'm also entering it on http://lawnscaping.blogspot.com.au/ where they ask for sending love.
There are no hearts on this but I'm sending healing love to her.

Whimsical Musings 200th post

At Whimsical musings they are celebrating 200 posts or challenges.
We are asked to go back and choose a challenge to repeat.
After looking through I chose challenge #67 from November 2012.
It was a recipe challenge.

Ingredients:
A journaling card
Two fonts for the title
buttons (3)
Four photos
Five coordinating patterned papers
A sprinkling of six brads
A dash of an optional supply

Process:

Mix well. Create a layout. Photograph, chill and serve to our group {here} with the tag WM#67.

Of course, as in all of cooking, feel free to make your own variations to this list of ingredients and adding your personal flavor or substituting ingredients for what you have on hand.
***********
4 photos, hmmmm....
I searched through my school photos from my teaching days and came up with a set of passport size photos of me at about age 24.

For my layout I matted an October afternoon shaped paper on to another sky blue check paper.
The other 3 papers are strips of various sizes I had.
All other ingredients are there and I've added a fabric star and a sticker tab at the top.
This was a good layout to use up some stash.

Archiscraps challenges

I am also the owner of Archiscraps where this month's theme is to use clocks.

We would love to see you enter! There are great prizes as well.

I'm linking this layout from Debra Weston who as yet doesn't have a blog

Really Reasonable Ribbon

At Really reasonable ribbon the theme is anything goes with ribbon.
Instead of a strip or bow I've used ribbon roses. They match the die cuts so well.

ABC challenge and freshly made sketches

My next card is for ABC Challenge ,where we are asked to include an animal.
My card is made from gift wrapping paper, and who could resist that tiger?

************

At Freshly made sketches here it is!

I've made a valentines card for this one.
I've used strips with spots plus a neutral square as my background for the sparkly red hearts.

Li'l red wagon and seize the birthday

http://lilredwagon.blogspot.ca/ has a challenge this week involving cool colours.
Perfect for my Counterfeit Kit.

Here is a birthday card I've made for someone turning 57.(using up numbers)

Seize the Birthday is a sketch.

It is just perfect for this baby card.

Can you detect a similar theme?

Starting the brag book

Fancy Pants brag book

In amongst my scrapping stuff  I have unearthed a Fancy Pants brag book, which needs decorating. There are pages to scrap, add photos, write and pockets for stuff.

I've been searching on Pinterest and have quite a few ideas

It is much like the smash book I made a few Christmases ago.

As I travel so much, I thought it might be fun to do a Bucket List/travel themed one.
I'm starting by using some of this month's kit to decorate pages in preparation.
It is quite thick so I'll keep the embellishments reasonably flat.

Here is  my first page. This explains my early travels.
