Rail to Kuranda

I've made a double page using sewing (gulp) and some tropical rub ons that have been hanging around on my desk.
The papers are Sarah Jane by Bella and Cosmo Cricket Flip for fun tags.
The theme is my trip on the Kuranda Rail .The left hand page includes a pocket behind the 2 photos where I keep the map from the trip, and the original ticket.

The male room & Pause dream enjoy

At the Male Room there is a challenge to use stars.
I've opted for a card for a little boy, using 2 different star papers plus 3 felt stars.

The penguin is a wood veneer and all items other than the green paper & penguin are from my counterfeit kit.

Next I have a tag with a nautical theme for Pause dream enjoy.
I've inked around the edge to match the ribbon.

Sketch 'n'scrap card #2

Here's the next card at Sketch 'n'scrap and again, it is a male one I made using my Counterfeit Kit.

Very patriotic!

Sketch'n'scrap card

This is the card sketch at Sketch 'n'scrap.
I'm using my counterfeit kit on this one to make a man's card for maybe a graduation.
There are a pair of glasses where the flowers are and a microscope with the sentiment.

In the pink and others.

At In the pink they want Razzle Dazzle.
Several other challenge sites have birthday or anything goes.
Colour Crazy Challenge -  No.20 - Anything Goes
http://deepoceanchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/ has feathered friends.
I've used Kaisercraft's pina colada range to make this card then added bling to give it the razzle dazzle.

Sketch n scrap and Whimsical musings

Sketch n scrap has this sketch

and challenge #257 is to be inspired by palm trees. at Whimsical Musings.

Now it just happens I returned from a tropical holiday this week, including Port Douglas which is in far north Queensland.(Where the palm trees grow).
I've used 2 photos from that to create this layout.

Bon voyage at City crafters

City Crafter challenge has given us a stimulus picture.

This prompted me to use some atlas paper to make a tag, which in turn , I put on this Bon Voyage card.

Unique zebras @ Cardz4guyz

At http://cardz4guyz.blogspot.com.au/ we are in the jungle this week.
I searched high and low and came up with a card featuring zebras plus a tiger tag.
As they are both striped, I used the 2 of them on my card.

I"M INTERESTED IN THE DT.
(Forgot to put it on my link)

Mojo Monday and Pinspirational challenges.

One thing I like about card challenges is they make you think outside the square and re-discover those long forgotten items.
Years ago I was on Memory Maze chipboard design team. I made these tags from chipboard, featuring a fairy.
The "grass" in the background is with liquid pearls and the acorn is a sticker.
The sketch from Mojo Monday suits this challenge, as does the theme of fairies at {pin}spirational challenges.

Mystical Tic Tac Toe challenge.

The second May challenge at Mystical scrapbooks is a tic tac toe.
I've gone across the top line ......doiley, flowers and a tag.

Recently my daughter and I visited Canberra Zoo.
This layout shows some of the animals we saw there.
All items on this are from my May Counterfeit Kit.
The big "noted" sign came in handy to point out the lions.

Challenge #1 Counterfeit Kit challenge.

Our challenge was to create a layout about "The good life".
I thought about retirement and all the things I enjoy doing and the advantages it offers.
Here's my layout using ONLY this month's counterfeit kit.

I've used symbols such as a house for being at home, flowers for gardening, hello speech bubble for meeting people, camera for photography, butterfly for freedom a compass and bike for travel etc.
The photo is actually my cousin and her dog who I visit sometimes for an overnight break...another joy of retirement.

Titanfall layout for Mystical

My daughter's partner Jacob plays computer games.
One of them is named Titanfall. When he bought the packet there was this collectors edition model.
I knew I'd be focussing on male layouts this month so scrapped this model.

Mystical Scrapbooks has a May challenge to use lots of layers.
Counting the photo and the 2 wood veneer cogs, there are 7 layers. This included 3 lots of recycled packaging.
I used silver inca gold to colour the cogs by the way.

Apart from the brown cardstock everything on this layout comes from my Counterfeit Kit.

Unstampabelles & Seize the birthday

The challenge at Unstampabelles is to use a border strip.
Typical of me, I think outside the square. My border strip runs down the centre.
All items in this card are from my Counterfeit Kit and I'm glad to have used an 8x8 paper I had for ages. It has a glittery surface which may not be immediately obvious.

At Seize the birthday it is anything goes, so I made a birthday card for a man.
I've used Counterfeit kit items on this.

I'm off on a holiday tomorrow so that will give your blog feeds a break from me for a while.

Sketch 'n' scrap layout.

Over at sketch 'n' scrap here is the layout sketch for their 5th birthday.

I recently went to see Kinky Boots with 2 friends. They shy friend took a photo of us behind the Kinky boots.
It was so much fun that I wanted to reflect that on my layout. I used sequins, felt stars and tiny words from Bella Boulevarde Blueberry Little Bits. I felt it didn't suit flowers and my choice looked more "show biz".
The red spotted circle was the centre of an old MM shaped paper. I used the theatre ticket as my title.

Shopping our stash & Mojo Monday

The challenge at Shopping our stash is fussy cutting.
I found this retro looking lady on a red gingham scrapbooking paper.
I fussy cut around her and the bands of cherry bunches.I chose the circle background as it matched the sentiment "shape wise".
She looks like she is holding a pink balloon or perhaps a beach ball.

Next is my card for Mojo Monday.
I've used a variety of geometric shapes and patterns on this Bon Voyage card.
(Including the circle pattern on the previous card)

Here is the sketch

As you like it plus Tuesday throwdown

Card No 7 for today.
If you are wondering where I find all these challenges I go to Paper playful.

Tuesday throwdown. has a sketch challenge

and as you like it wants a card made in our favourite colours.

Anyone who knows me by now, knows that I love green, especially lime.

QKR stampede and the male room

Last card before I stop for lunch.
This time I'm using a paper and sticker from my Counterfeit Kit.
The strip featuring tricycles was also in my kit.
This one is for QKR stampede.

Back again and another one for the Male Room.

I've made this for a grandfather and features a rather comfy looking chair (which has 4 legs).
I considered animals but then thought of this instead.

Sketchy Saturday & Tuesday Morning sketches

It is the 5th Saturday of the month at Sketchy  Saturday so that means we can pick any sketch.
My card is based on #371
I've put a boho Indie twist on it by using Basic Grey's Indie Range.

I've put my own twist on the sketch, but it was the inspiration for this card.
 **********************************************************************************************
Next on to Tuesday Morning sketches

I had a felt cut out of 2 ballroom dancers which also matched a sticker I have saying "anniversary".
They went perfectly together on this card.
I added some faux stitching around the circle.

Cardz4Guyz & Crafty cardmakers

I found this challenge on Cardz4guyz to be inspired by a movie.
The Fancy Pants paper was ideal for "Summer Holiday" with Cliff Richards or any of the surfing movies of the 1960s.
I kept it simple,it was colourful enough.

At crafty cardmakers they ask us to use pearls.
A more subdued card perhaps for an older lady.

Non photo layout.

This is a non-picture layout which I have been meaning to do for a while.
In my counterfeit kit was a very busy blue paper saying love, art, create etc.I used white paint to cover most of it then used a paint chip.
Around that I grouped labels from clothes .Add washi, alphas, a wood veneer clothes stand and voila!

Sketch n scrap

This is the first May sketch at Sketch n scrap.
I'm concentrating on my daughter's partner for this layout and a few more to come.
Using my Counterfeit Kit, I've made a very male page about his love of reading and his books.

The tab saying "brilliant" was threatening to come off ,so I stitched it down.

As I had no 3rd photo I've used a large panel featuring a pair of spectacles.
The turquoise spotted bag could be used as another place to hide journaling.
I'll let Jacob do his own journaling on this layout.
As you can see he likes Epic fantasies.

Li'l red wagon,Seize the birthday and Cardz4Galz

At Li'l red wagon there is a male birthday challenge.
At Seize the Birthday it is anything goes.

I've made a grandfather card using some items from my Counterfeit Kit.

And at Cardz4galz they want a shaped card.
I've made my very first Z card.
I hope it qualifies!

May Counterfeit Kit

Our kit this month is http://www.gossamerblue.com/product/march-2017-main-kit/
I'm a happy scrapper because I LOVE blue.

My kit is more masculine and there is no yellow but it does feature some of the criteria.
blues
black lettering
enamel dots
small black alphas
numbers
labels
wood veneers
spectacles
paper with lines
blocks on a paper
dots on paper
small figured paper

I've adapted it to suit my needs and come up with OXFORD BLUES.

The one thing that I couldn't find was bears, so I added some for display purposes only.
If you are away at University in Oxford, you need some home comforts like your teddy bear!

The whole kit started with the Basic Grey sheet featuring the spectacles ,named Oxford.
Suddenly I realised I had plaids, spots, lined paper, scientific labels, cameras etc ,so that was the direction I chose. (Preppy)
Here's the papers

My embellishments in their tray, ready to be used. I didn't go overboard this month.

There are three floral papers, so I added flowers and also a seashell one plus the butterfly stamps (for scientific purposes).
Instead of pink there will be some smaller red appearances.

Now here's the order of the mini blog hop:

Atlantic Hearts challenge

I found a new card challenge site Atlantic Hearts
I've used teal blues from my MAY counterfeit kit plus a Kaiser black plastic flower and BG stickers.
As you can see it is a birthday card.
Sorry about the shadow. I had several tries at scanning this.

At Freshly made Sketches this is their sketch
Here's my take on that
